Sadie is a first year Ph.D. student at UNO, having completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and her master's at Regis University. Throughout her education she has had the opportunity to work with several different researchers to better understand the way that law and policy shapes behavioral outcomes. She also spent a summer in Ireland studying peace negotiations and how conflict shapes youth development. Her current research interests focus on juvenile corrections, youth decision making, and rehabilitation and recidivism. She is currently working on analyzing data from the JJI's youth mentoring program, a program that she participated in herself while in undergrad. Sadie is also assisting on a research collaboration between the Juvenile Justice Institute and the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education (NCITE) Center to identify and implement best practices for reintegration of foreign terrorist fighter families to the United States.
When not at school or work, Sadie loves paddle boarding with her two doggos Hank and Gus and taking every opportunity she can to explore places all around the globe!
