2024 County Data Sheets

UPDATES August 15, 2024: * The Census data included on the first page of each county report incorrectly states “2020 Census,” the data are from 2022. ** Law enforcement citations, diversion, and detention booking data were provided directly to the JJI from the Nebraska Crime Commission’s (NCC) internal records, rather than from the NCC’s publicly available data reports as previously cited. *** The Bureau of Sociological Research (BOSR) has published more recent data on students’ risk and protective factors from the 2023 Nebraska Risk and Protective Factor Student Survey (NRPFSS). These results can be found on BOSR’s website.

In 2024, the Juvenile Justice Institute completed data sheets for each county receiving Community-based Aid funding in FY 2023-2024. These data sheets were intended to help communities identify gaps and needs they should focus on in their 2025-2030 community plans due in December 2024 (for details and guidance on the community planning process, visit the Nebraska Crime Commission’s website).

Data sources included the Center for Public Affairs Research and the Census, Nebraska Department of Education, Nebraska Judicial Branch, NCC, and NRPFSS. Each report includes a section focusing on Racial and Ethnic Disparities (RED) across the local juvenile justice system.
